Wall Space Guidelines
PURPOSE
The OC Wall Space Guidelines are designed to optimize the overall experience for wall visitors and maximize the effectiveness for all wall space users. Here's how we do this...
We review all requests for Wall Space to determine if they:
- are appropriate for the wall (category) that has been requested
- meet certain requirements (legal, ethical, etc)
- are presented in a manner consistent with the look-and-feel quality of the OC Wall
GRAPHIC REPRESENTATION
While we consider ourselves very open-minded when it comes to artwork, design and the like, it is our goal to ensure the quality of the wall experience by setting minimum artwork standards for wall spaces on the OC Wall. We don't expect this to be an issue very often... but to ensure that your artwork is acceptable for the wall, we suggest the following:
- Utilize a trained or experienced inhouse/external graphic designer to produce your artwork
- If you do your own artwork, use a good quality graphics program and make your best effort
- If you like, we offer a high-quality professional wall space design service for a very modest cost. We've designed hundreds of wall spaces and we know how to optimize them for maximum effectiveness. More info here.
ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS
Your wall space artwork will be presented two ways based on one piece of artwork. Each standard wall space is 100 pixels by 100 pixels (feels like about an inch square). When a visitor mouses over your wall space, a larger image appears along with your text description (up to 255 characters). The size of the larger (original) image is (and must be) 400 pixels by 400 pixels. Here's the trick... your original (400 x 400 pixels) image will be automatically reduced to 100 x 100 pixels by the wall engine. This needs to be taken into consideration when creating your wall space artwork. So, your art file must be...
Image Size: 400 x 400 pixels
File Type: jpg, png
File Size: Max 100kb
